Overview
DPS Pathankot has an Open Admission Policy. Admission at DPS is open to all without any distinction of religion, caste, creed or sex. Admissions are made on the basis of an interview of the student along with his/her parents. We are looking for students who display a keen desire to learn, who are inquisitive about the world they live in and wish to explore a range of experiences in order to develop their intrinsic talents.
It is essential that you register your interest at the earliest possible date. Applications are prioritized based on the date of receipt of an application. A further priority is given to siblings of current students but they also need to ensure that they are registered early.

Individual Screening
Some candidates may be required to have an individual screening and interview with the principal, counselor and/or resource teacher. The school reserves the right to request additional diagnostic testing or a full evaluation before a decision is made for any student. All applicants will have the opportunity to tell us about their interests and achievements. Because education is a three-way partnership, we also look forward to having an interaction with their parents.
The interview is as pleasant and non-intimidating as we can make it. We are interested in knowing about the child’s/students educational development, use of language, social skills, academic enthusiasms, and extra-curricular interests. Successful applicants will once all formalities are completed be given an Admission Number and this will be quoted in all future correspondences.
Admissions Denied
Each year some students are denied admission on the basis of their academic and/or behavioral record; when their English language proficiency does not meet the requirements of the grade to which they are applying; or when DPS Pathankot lacks spaces or a program to meet their individual needs. Denied candidates may reapply once the reason for the denial has been addressed.
Come for Student for a Day. You’ll want to stay!
All girls and boys from Pre- Nursery to class 9th, who are contemplating a DPS education may experience it first hand by participating in the Boy or Girl for a Day program. Many parents take up this opportunity when their child’s current school has a free day in the year prior to entry. This day also assists with your child’s transition into DPS Pathankot. Your child will be hosted by the teacher and students of the same class level your child is currently in. Friendships are made and your child will get a ‘feel’ for the School.
